Mission Santa Clara Wedding
Christina and Jack got married and the gorgeous Mission Santa Clara. They have such a special place in my heart. I met them while photographing a wedding (shout out to Annie and Ollie! Love you guys) that Christina was officiating. Christina approached me at the wedding and told me about them being engaged. From there, we set up and call and ending up really hitting it off! We realized we had a lot in common and it felt more like I was talking with friends. One thing I feel is important to note is Christina and I’s shared love for Taylor Swift. Taylor really has a way of bringing people together.
Shortly after booking me as their wedding photographer, they moved to Colorado. I have always loved Colorado and wanted to do a shoot there. I proposed the idea of me traveling to them for their engagement shoot. Thankfully, they loved that idea so we got to planning. We did their engagement shoot in the middle of what was practically a blizzard to us California people. Regardless of the challenges the weather brought, we had an amazing shoot at Rock Mountain National Park. You can check out their engagement shoot HERE.
Getting Ready
Now back to the wedding! Christina and Jack’s wedding was SO gorgeous. The Mission at Santa Clara University offers so many stunning backdrops for photos. Plus, this place holds a lot of significance to them since this is where they met.
We started off the day with Jack and his groomsmen at Hotel Valencia. Then, I traveled to Christina’s parents house for her portion of the getting ready photos. There we blasted 1989 Taylor Swift (which just happen to come out mere days before the wedding. Thank you, Taylor) , laughed our butts off and most importantly got some gorgeous photos.
Ceremony
Christina and Jack had their ceremony at The Mission Santa Clara. It is a GORGEOUS cathedral! Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful. I don’t think any of us could have dreamed up a more perfect setting.
Bridals and Family
All of Christina and Jack’s family and bridal party really brought the heat. All of them looking stunning and really seemed to have fun with the photos. It makes my job so enjoyable when I see people have fun with the photos and show off their personalities.
As previously mentioned, I met Christina and Jack at another wedding. That lovely bride was in the bridal party! This was such a cool experience as a wedding photographer to not only see two of my brides be such good friends but also being able to photograph them at the same time. It was one of those “wow, I really made it” moments for me.
Couple Portraits
I always recommend two things to make your couple portraits the best they can be. The first thing is book an engagement shoot. The reason why is because it makes you so much more comfortable in front of the camera and also your wedding photographer. Think of your engagement shoot as a practice run to make your wedding day photos perfect. The second thing I recommend is doing the photos at sunset.

Reception
The reception is always my favorite part of the wedding day. This is where most of the nerve have settled and now you can just relish in the moment. You are freaking married!! Now let’s party!
